The second Keighley and Craven school’s cross-country race of the year set off with a bang on Thursday 14th November. Despite the undesirable conditions, the race at Lund Park in Keighley was a great success for IGS runners and a lot of fun for everyone involved. The highlight of the race was the 1st place achievement made by the Inter-Girls and Junior Boys for their school’s races. The Inter-Boys were not far behind achieving 2nd place nor the Junior Girls who were placed 3rd. In the aftermath of severe rain, the park was very muddy causing many unfortunate runners to lose their shoes, including Helena Coy who completed the race with no shoes and somehow still managed to come in 2nd!
IGS is currently doing very well in the overall league with George Buckley in 5th place in the Inter-boys league, Erin Doyle, 1st, Freya Whiteside, 2nd and Beth Rogers, 3rd in the Inter Girls league, Archie Budding, 2nd and Alexander Wolfenden, 4th in the Junior Boys’ league and, Helena Coy coming in 6th in the Junior Girls’ league.
