Over the last month or so, Storm Ciara and Storm Dennis have caused large gusts of wind and heavy rain.
Storm Ciara, also known as Winter Storm Kade, started in North America as an insignificant winter storm, then, building momentum as it crossed the Atlantic, triggering the first severe weather warnings in the UK and Ireland on the 4th of February.
Since Ciara’s arrival, it has incurred seven deaths, including a 58-year-old man who got crushed to death in his car by a falling tree.
Alongside Ilkley, dangerous floods have happened in Appleby and Ramsbottom with residents trying desperately to protect their town and the homes within it.
The whole UK has been affected by these storms, with some flood and weather warnings still in place.
Stay safe people!
