As part of Charities Week, The Year 9 Event management students of IGS set up a wonderful afternoon tea spread on Friday 13th December, in the Courtyard Cafe. The party was managed largely by the students, with one teacher, Miss Eyles, helping the students to set up food.
The girls running the tea took clear pride in their work, setting up a wonderful spread decorated with a Christmas theme.
After asking one student, she said that the process had been “fun” and they had been given a lot of freedom while creating the dishes, table plans, and invitations that went along with such an organised and brilliant event. As for what was on the menu, think typical Victorian afternoon tea; tables were laden with sweet treats from pastries to mince pies as well as the classic finger sandwiches. Students had even included dietary information.
The tables were beautifully decorated, some with fairy lights, and all with the brilliant food taking centre stage. Overall, it was a fantastically successful event and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. A perfectly sweet and cakey way to end Charities Week at Ilkley Grammar School.
Well done to everyone involved.
